Lateshia H. Butler

Lateshia H. Butler is the Director of Civil Rights Compliance and the Title IX Coordinator for Mississippi State University. In this role, Lateshia oversees the University’s compliance efforts in Title IX, Title VI, and the Campus SAVE Act/VAWA. She is responsible for the investigation and adjudication of all Title IX complaints. Additionally, Lateshia investigates complaints of discrimination and retaliation based on protected classes and is instrumental in creating policies and procedures related to non-discrimination practices. Lateshia facilitates and implements University-wide training programs for faculty, staff, and students to promote awareness of Title IX and other non-discrimination policies and procedures.

Lateshia received her B. A. in Political Science and Journalism from the University of Mississippi and her Juris Doctorate from Mississippi College School of Law. Lateshia is a member of the MSU's Transformation Management Team, Staff Council, and the Inclusive Excellence Leadership Council.  

Lateshia and her husband, Eric, are the proud parents of Michael and Alexander.
